1)由介词短语引起：
But for their help ,we wouldn’t have succeeded.
His progress wouldn’t have been made without arduous work.
2)由表示转折语气的词语引起：
I was too busy yesterday. Otherwise I would have been here to see you.
3)根据上下文判断：
Anyone in his position would have done the same.
